Our work priorities 2007-08
Marketing, influence and policy
People will only understand the concept of sustainble communities if we can interpret it in a way that makes them realise how important it is to them. That's why marketing and our related activities play such an important role.
We're:
- Developing a marketing and communications strategy to help deliver key messages and support our brand, products and services
- Developing new content for our website to help us reach our target of 150,000 visits over the next year
Our marketing efforts will help:
- Promote the skills agenda
- Shape planning legislation so that it reflects the need for generic skills, increased recruitment and compulsory training for local councillors
- Promote the valuable work of the Regional Centres of Excellence
- Increase the profile of key issues across government departments and professional deliverers
- Promote new products and services
We'll also get involved with six high-profile events to support our aims, and run a Partners' Network of major national agencies and professional institutes, to agree common approaches to skills, knowledge and recruitment.
On top of all this, we'll be keeping a close eye on the national agendas for housing, climate change, cohesion and local government.
