| Langthwaite Grange Industrial Estate, Wakefield | Scheme to help prevent existing businesses from moving away from a troubled industrial estate and encourage new businesses to take units. |

| Sybil Phoenix MBE, London Borough of Lewisham | African Caribbean community leader who has worked for more than 30 years on community cohesion, having chaired or been a committee member of more than 200 organisations. |
| Breckland Economic Development Team, Norfolk | Project that helps to provide a dynamic local economy, encourage quality job opportunities and invests in a sustainable and socially inclusive environment. |
| Well designed and well built | |
| Brayford Pool Campus, University of Lincoln | The development of the campus has helped to draw many full-time undergraduates to the city, providing a safe, accessible environment for students. |
| Coopers Road Estate, London Borough of Southwark | Project to provide quality and affordable social housing by developing failed 1960s housing stock. |
| Gun Wharf, Devonport | Project to transform a rundown 1950s social estate into a mix of privately-occupied, affordable, rented and shared ownership housing. |
| Haycombe Drive, Bath | Redevelopment project that has transformed two blocks of flats and a former Salvation Army meeting hall to create two- and three-storey crescents of terraced housing. |
| CATEGORY WINNER: Hollybush Primary School, Leeds | A new school that has adopted energy efficient construction methods to provide state-of-the-art equipment in a safe and secure environment for children from a socially deprived area. |
| Partnership working across public, private and third sectors | |
| East London Business Alliance, London | Partnership between the community in West Ham and Plaistow and the private sector to attract business resources, skills and expertise into the neighbourhood. |
| The Holborn Partnership, London | Made up of 350 organisations, including businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations, who work together to improve community safety and foster community spirit. |
| CATEGORY WINNER: Mixenden Community Link, Calderdale | Promotes the integration of asylum seekers, refugees and accession state members into a predominantly white community. |
| Tyneside Cyrenians, Newcastle | Homelessness charity that has given work experience and full-time employment to homeless individuals in the local community. |

| Idea Store, Tower Hamlets, London | New public library that has completely changed the way libraries look and who they serve. |
| John Pounds Redevelopment, Portsea, Portsmouth | Series of arts projects to engage and maintain community interest, focus views and contribute distinctive elements to the design of the building. |
| Neighbourhood Watching, Tower Hamlets, London | Project that uses creative methods to engage residents to be more involved with the changes that are planned to take place on the council estate. |
| CATEGORY WINNER: Art For All; All For Art, Oldham | Programme of cultural activities to improve relations between various communities and ethnic and generational groups. |
| Skills, training, learning and workforce development | |
| JOINT CATEGORY WINNER: Accent Community Partnerships, Bradford | Trains young, disadvantaged men and women in construction skills and sets up apprenticeships with local companies working on regeneration projects. |
| JOINT CATEGORY WINNER: Compass Regeneration Academy, Liverpool | Learning programme that covers local democracy and governance, neighbourhood masterplanning, rural and inner city regeneration, neighbourhood management, crime and community safety, community cohesion and social enterprise. |
| English Partnerships Development Programme | Designed to increase the skills capacity within English Partnerships and the wider regeneration sector across all regions of England. |
| Five Links Estate, Basildon | Project that has adopted innovative social regeneration initiatives to improve housing, reduce crime and increase skills among young people. |
| The Glasshouse Project | Delivers training and support to those living and working in low-income communities. |

| Accent Community Partnerships, Bradford | Trains young, disadvantaged men and women in construction skills and sets up apprenticeships with local companies working on regeneration projects. |
| CATEGORY WINNER: The Children’s Forum, Nottingham | Works with 8-11 year-old primary school children in the most deprived inner city words of Nottingham to enable them to raise issues face-to-face with local public service providers, which are then followed through to implementation. |
| Community Campus ’87, Stockton-on-Tees | Tackles youth homelessness and unemployment by providing housing, support, construction skills and other training opportunities. |
| Slough Young People’s Centre, Slough | Run by young people and offers advice, information, accredited training, enterprise support and opportunities for creative and cultural development. |
| South Bristol URBAN II, Bristol City Council | Only European Regional Development Fund initiative in the history of the European Structural Funds to place young people at the heart of the decision-making process. |
| Urban Academy Project, Middlesex | Lifestyle development programme for young people, driven by young people. Runs a series of free social activities including street dancing, basketball, sports tournaments and football coaching. |
