The closed programme is aimed at local authorities, who can book up to 25 of their officers/employees onto a tailor made session. An open programme is available to all, with sessions planned in London (24/25th Feb 09), Manchester (17/18th Mar 09) and Birmingham (28/29th April 09)
The course will help you:
- Understand how your day-to-day responsibilities are affected by planning issues
- Identify how you can engage better with the planning system
- Gain a better understanding of how far the planning system can contribute to successful and sustainable regeneration
Teaching is based around interactive seminar sessions and group workshops. There are also study tours, where you get the chance to use your knowledge to assess local development sites from a planning perspective.

How the course works
Planning for Non-Planners is aimed at those from non-planning backgrounds who interact with the planning system in their work. Participants from different departments and disciplines come together to lean more about the main principles of planning.
